Pupils from the N+ CEE Partner, The Passkyvuori Primary School, Turku, Finland working with dance artist-teacher students from the Arts Academy, Turku University of Applied Sciences

The Nordic-Baltic wide Creative Environment Education / CEE Network is an educational platform that engages and empowers primary school pupils (6-12 years old) towards environmental consciousness and Sustainability through innovative methods. The CEE Network focuses on the holistic co-designed / collaborative development of the arts (dance, music visual arts, and media arts) and environmental studies towards interdisciplinary curricula / pedagogical teaching methods for elementary/primary school level environmental education. We embrace a STEAM approach: science, technology, engineering, ARTS, and math. This project is initiated by the Arts Academy, Turku University of Applied Sciences / TUAS, Turku, Finland.

The CEE Network supports equal voices and input from all our participants.  We include critically important partners in the context of land rights, land-based education, traditional Indigenous and local knowledge, cultural/language preservation, and an authentic perspective of climate change that is so radically impacting our lives in the Nordic-Baltic regions. Our CEE Network’s diverse  HEI, School, NGO, and Municipality partners are from the Greenland, Iceland, Denmark, Norway, Finland, and Latvia. Our target group of children will be the ones who inherit the earth at the last nanosecond regarding environmental concerns. The CEE Network’s activities and interdisciplinary environmental education is a positive step towards empowering these young people who live in the most environmentally vulnerable areas of the world.
