For our 3rd spring 2021 NORDPLUS CAPE Network Zoom Webinar series, we are proud to have our CAPE Network partner, the Tallinn University, and their students presenting their STEAM arts pedagogy project with the Smart Trail in the Tallinn Stroomi Park. These students have been led by Tallinn University lecturers of Dance Art, Integrative Arts and Ecology Science.

The tutors in this project from Tallinn University are Dance Artist-Teachers Tiina Ollesk and Renee Nõmmik, Integrative Arts’ Composer/Musician Artist-Teacher Gerhard Lock and Ecology Science Teachers: Liisa Puusepp, Mihkel Kangur.

Tallinn University students: Simo Kruusement, Helin Jürmann, Liise-Marie Roosaar, Karoline Suhhov, Kätleen Noormägi, Sandra Põld, Aleksandr Kuksin, Kristin Tagam.

All Tallinn University students must complete the ELU project. In translation, ELU is an abbreviation of the words Integration between Different Specialties/Disciplines.

“In our ELU-project students from choreography, integrated arts and environmental planning are cooperating. They studied how environmental education is integrated into the curriculum of the Estonian school system. According to the youngsters’ expectations, they are creating a Smart Trail based on creative methods of arts in the area of Tallinn Stroomi Park. It is a creative activity (trail) with environmental and educational tasks designed for school grades 7-8. It helps children to notice the specifics of nature, the history of the place, and the general consequences of human activities in this natural area in Tallinn. To cross the trail, it is necessary to have a smartphone, an Internet connection to the “Smart Trail” environment on the Internet, and to be located in Tallinn Stroomi Park.” – Tiina Ollesk.
